How to make Izmir meatballs (meatballs with sauce)?

Ingredients

  • 500 grams of minced meat
  • 2 onions
  • 1 egg
  • Half a tea glass of breadcrumbs
  • Half a tea glass of water
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • Salt, black pepper, cumin
  • Parsley
  • 4-5 potatoes
  • 2 tomatoes
  • 4-5 green peppers
  • 1 spoon of tomato paste

How to make?

  1. Finely mince the onion, garlic and parsley.
  2. Start kneading with the minced meat.
  3. Add egg, breadcrumbs, water and spices and knead well.
  4. Refrigerate for half an hour.
  5. Cut the peeled potatoes into apple slices.
  6. Lightly fry the potatoes and the shaped meatballs.
  7. After placing them on a glass tray, add pepper in between.
  8. Grate the tomatoes.
  9. Mix with tomato paste and a glass of water and pour this sauce over the meatballs.
  10. Bake in a 180 degree oven.
